Working in perfect harmony
One of the most important aspects of my training with ice skaters is working in perfect harmony, without unnecessary tensions and disputes.
Initially, we discuss all the technical issues and I explain the specifics of the skating elements to my students. The off-ice preparation work for figure skating can take 2 or 3 hours.

Most of the skaters instinctively learn basic skating elements without understanding of the dynamics and mechanics of those elements. The knowledge of physics and mechanics in figure skating will help the skater to understand why he or she loses speed or height.
When the skater understands  the driving forces, he or she can translate this into speed which also passes into height. This understanding comes from physics, i.e. a physical basis of a jump, to biomechanics. For best rsults, the skaters should be able to understand and apply the principals of the biomechanics to their own body.

Other very important parts of figure skating training are: ballet, pilates, gymnastics, athletics, and stretching. Such training helps the skater aquire good coordination and stability, as well as smooth and graceful movements. To master figure skating, as any sports, takes a lot of time, and also a lot of moral and physical strengths, from the coach, the athletes, as well as their families.
